Nearly three hundred teenage children have fallen to their deaths in what some are calling the worst waterpark disaster in history.
As the gates opened at "Gimme Budderflies Waterslide" for the first time this Saturday, the children anxiously rushed down the sharp rock face to where a line formed behind the slide. Organizers looked on, and some cheered as the kids tumbled down the rock cliffs, not realizing what they were witnessing.
Frier Gonson of Richfield noticed the slide was not quite right even before they let the children in the park, "I knew the slide was very unsafe, but who am I to raise a stink, ya know?"
During the construction of "Gimme Budderflies Waterslide", complaints filed into Jonestown City Hall regarding the overall safety of the slide. Councilwoman Judith Foit had little to say,"We make our permitting decisions based strictly on campaign contributions, period."
Parents are outraged, and rightly so. Tickets for each slide-run are $79, and the fact that the children are actually losing their lives has some questioning the operation in general. There are no charges being filed.
